🐦 RED WINGS BAR

The proprietors are Stephen Strange and Clarke Griffin, and anyone who spends any amount of time at the bar will see a lot of them. It’s rare that one or other of them isn’t taking a frontline role, and any request to see the manager will tend to summon one or the other owner.

Clarke takes primary responsibility for HR, so staff schedules and assigning of weekly duties goes through her. She’s also in charge of food and the kitchen.

Stephen takes lead on the rest of the management duties and is almost always in the building, owing to the fact that he lives in the basement.

Staff will have ample face time with both. Feel free to assume a certain level of familiarity, neither of them maintain much of a professional distance.

☉ Aesthetically, Red Wings is a retro tribute to the lost city of Detroit. It's all red neon, cars and sports memorabilia, with all fittings and decor elements physical where possible as a nod to the era. There is also some artwork dedicated to Motown and its significance within the city, and there is a section of the digital sound system for Motown.

☉ The main area is spacious, with stools at the bar and plenty of room for booths and standing space. One area is reserved for the physical darts board and pool table, which are permanent installations.

☉ There is also a function room available for private bookings and smaller events, though this is currently not quite as nicely done up as the main space.

☉ The bar has multiple neural interface screens installed throughout to make sure there's always an easy view of the game, with one larger screen set up over the bar itself for Big Game days. (The screens show the most popular game of the day as default to entering patrons but if individuals want to watch something else they've got a license for all major sports channels, so that VR golf championship you were afraid you were going to miss out on is just a neural channel hop away).

☉ A digital sound system allows customers to request their favourite tunes via their implant.

☉ Drinks include a range of the finest craft beers, popular spirits and a basic cocktail menu.

☉ Bar food is served according to a developing menu.

☉ Opening hours are 2pm 'til late.

🐦 STAFF

Staff are not required to wear uniform, but will be expected to wear clothes appropriate for their job role. Shift patterns are usually organised by Clarke and can be assumed to fit around your character's needs - i.e. part time work is fine if you want your character running two jobs.

Any of the Displaced are welcome to work at Red Wings and anyone who asks is guaranteed a job. The available job roles are security, bartending, food prep (both line prep and head cooks), restaurant maintenance and cleaning, and dishwashing. If your character has particular skills that might suit them to another (or more senior) role, feel free to get in touch and we can hash it out.

All prospective employees must “apply” here using the form below. This will represent a handwaved ‘interview’ with Clarke and/or Stephen, which will be a largely informal opportunity to discuss the role, availability, ask any questions and arrange a trial shift. It will also make it easier for us to know who's working at the bar and who has CR with one another.

UPDATE 12/09/2020: Going forward, new applicants need to have an IC thread with Stephen or Clarke about applying to work at Red Wings. This can be a thread from the network or log comms if something happens spontaneously, or you can contact either one of them in their inboxes. It's public knowledge amongst the Displaced that they're the owners so it's fine to hit them up without your character having spoken about them or the bar with anybody else in game!
