Never mind the demands you made of El before all this. While you were right to do so, we still managed to rally around the world and fight while the Displaced focused their attentions here. I'm grateful that New Amsterdam wasn't a tragedy, but the rest of the world is licking its wounds as a result. I'm not happy to see that.

Morningstar itself will never be the thing to generate trust in Morningstar amongst the Displaced, no matter what it does or what harm we do.
I didn't join because of all the good work Morningstar was doing. I didn't join because I was grateful for what they'd given me or saw a wonderful opportunity to give back. I didn't join because I felt guilty for what they'd lost or what you were having to put up with.
I joined because you and I chose to trust one another when we least had reason to do so. I believed in you. In your intentions, your motivations, your actions. Are you perfect? No. Do you always do or say the right thing? Obviously not. But I wasn't wrong to trust you, and I've never regretted the path it's walked me down.
It's going to take more than insistence, a company name and a raft of good deeds to persuade them to stop hunting for shadows and start looking at faces. It'll have to be people, if it's anything at all. Strangers, colleagues. Friends.

I manipulated and took advantage of your willingness to protect, your need for purpose and your comfort in walking into battle first for what I believed was right and then for what I couldn't stand to admit was wrong.
