[ When the message lands and he makes it through to the end it's with the unchecked lift of a smile catching one of the corners of his mouth. The request is straightforward, uncomplicated. The chance to do something strangely ordinary: train with a fellow practitioner of the same family of arts, experiment with new ways to work. ]
Hi. I'd be glad to.
Our styles may significantly differ but it shouldn't be too difficult to translate some of the methods of mine to repurpose yours and make wandless spellwork a little more intuitive. Does the wand in your discipline typically work more as a focusing agent or a vessel for magic?
And please, call me Stephen. We've shared a war, it's probably time to give up on formality.
Doctor Stephen is a bit of an odd request, but alright. If you insist.
The wand works as both - I think it must be a vessel when a witch is young, but with experience and time, I've seen some able to flick their fingers and light candles or close doors.
Also, oddly, not every spell has an incantation for it, so there's some swishing and flicking of wands and hoping for the best, I think.
It sounds not too dissimilar from the way things work for us.
Our casting is largely gestural, but those gestures act as a means to focus the caster's intent when harnessing energy into specific confines. Those of us with considerable experience can skip the gesture where necessary, or where the extension of the will into any specific spell's shape is so familiar it's more natural not to bother with the intermediary step.
Wandless magic may for you just be a matter of finding a different conduit, some kind of casting language to bridge the gap between intent and outcome.

Maybe it is down to intention.
