was this an ability you had prior to joining our wonderful city? was it only in the dreams themselves? how certain are you, that what you pulled was from her mind, instead of my brothers?

My power is more specific than a simple reading of thoughts. It requires me to translate neural activity, and each brain has its own neural signature. I was reading her.
That isn't to say that what I found in her mind wasn't somehow influenced by the presence of his. Dreams are naturally difficult to grasp on to and her mind was in some ways the same, thoughts never quite sticking, no avenue followed for too long before she was off on another. It's possible that his interaction with her influenced the contents of her mind in some way.
Until I'm able to read it again in this world, I can't say for sure.

to me, at least with my experience in the dreams- it seemed like a shared space. not one of equal influence- but who was there, and why- did change the scenery.

Without a more concrete understanding of the way the dreams worked, we can't conclusively say one way or the other the origins of what I found in Maeda's mind. The only way to know will be to follow up. Given the nature of the information, it's best to fortify for the worst than hope for the best.
She knew what he was planning: that he wanted to infiltrate her trust in the short term in order to take her down in the long term. She knew the difficult nature of his relationship with your father, and the when/where/how of his disappearance from New Amsterdam. I wasn't able to follow that lead, it couldn't be tracked.

She was amused that he'd bothered to show his face. And that he'd brought me along and showed mine, and in doing so shown more connections to the Displaced. A strong sense that while she knew that word and likely therefore knows of us in a more tangible way than just hearing the stories and seeing the shrines, she doesn't necessarily understand what we are.
Her mind was a kind of shifting thing. What that means for how real it was or wasn't I don't know.
