He hasn't been home often.

Not an overly reassuring way to spend his time, but everyone has different ways of coping with loss and Illya's loss had been significant. Stephen hasn't challenged him on it. ]
[ well. there's not much to be done about it now, as far as guilt is concerned. she can't go back and change her decisions, nor can she prevent herself from disappearing in the first place. all she can do is be present now, and hope that's enough. ]
