Since New Cairo marks three of four gate-locations, I assume some of us have been taken to New Rio de Janeiro as well. I haven't got a head count yet, of missing bodies, but there were several of us I saw en route to New Beijing that are no longer around. Glad to hear you weren't taken off somewhere, just for remaining behind in New Amsterdam. It means they only were looking at those of us heading to the gates.
Tomoe also said something about armed men, with them. He's not dead or maimed, so that means they aren't the UNA.

You're right about Rio but it isn't only the people heading to the gates. Some have been abducted from the city. Not all of us, but any of us. The same can be said for them: sedation, mercenaries.
If they're not UNA and they're taking them to the gates, it stands to reason they don't intend to do any harm provided they play along. Somebody wants us to find what we haven't so far on our own.

Rey and I have been talking to our guides about their tattoos. They're natives of the area, not mercenaries; has she been able to contact you? We're considering the angle that we can't just open gates one at a time and I don't know... if it's even a smart idea to open them. I'm concerned it'll give our mysterious manipulator some sort of leverage. Maybe not over us, but over something or someone.
